  • UNIVERSAL FIDELITY LP Becomes Certified Third-Party Collection Agency

    Katy, Texas – 6/25/2020 – Universal Fidelity LP today announced that it has earned the highly-regarded designation of Certified Receivables Business (CRB) after fulfilling the comprehensive national standards for third party collection agencies contained in RMAI’s Certification Program. These standards have been recognized for exceeding state and federal laws and regulations through a series of stringent requirements that stress responsible consumer protection through increased transparency and operational controls.

     

    “Earning the Certified Receivables Business designation is a significant achievement,” said RMAI Board President Marian Sangalang. “Universal Fidelity LP has demonstrated its commitment to adhering to rigorous consumer protection and professional standards that not only meet but often exceed state and federal regulatory requirements. Certified businesses such as Universal Fidelity LP set the global standard for the receivables management industry.”

     

    The CRB designation is granted to third party collection agencies who comply with rigorous standards addressing such items as account documentation, bonding, consumer complaint, and dispute resolution, the statute of limitation compliance, trust accounts, vendor management, credit bureau reporting, and other relevant operational procedures.  Individual Certified Receivables Compliance Professional designations are required for each certified business’s chief compliance officer.

  • Universal Fidelity LP Celebrates 25 Years in the ARM Industry

    HOUSTON, Texas — Universal Fidelity LP, a Houston based collection company is celebrating its 25thAnniversary on February 4th.  The company was opened by Terry W. Simonds in February 1991.  The vision and culture was to provide “Enrichment Through Quality Partnerships.”

    Terry W. Simonds won the Entrepreneur of the Year awarded by Ernest & Young for Service in 1997. Universal Fidelity was awarded the Blue Chip Enterprise Award the year following given by Mass Mutual.

    The company has had the opportunity to work with many of the management leaders that began from our industry for many years, which brought opportunities and growth our company.

    UFLP is a family owned and operated business

    Scott Hearn Executive Vice President has been in the dynamic collection industry since he was 16.  His father, John Hearn, started in the industry in the late 70’s with GC Services and retired from Universal Fidelity LP in 2009.  John passed last year, he mentored Scott throughout his career.

    The amount of experience from the current leaders of UFLP exceeds 100 years.  Chief Financial Officer Jessica Hearn offered, “It is great to be part of an industry that has so many familiar names and stories that last generations. My daughter is already saying when she is older she wants to follow the family’s foot-steps in the collection industry.”  UFLP has taken the word “Tradition” to its full meaning for the past 25 years.

    UFLP Has Been at the Forefront of Technology

    UFLP has been at the forefront in the collection industry continually keeping up with technology enhancements for their clients.  The company completed an overhaul of its entire technology infrastructure last Spring, converting to a cloud based system.  The platform now has a full collection system integration with our dialer.

    The new system allows for more enhanced security and compliance, and our agents tell us it is one of the finest systems they have experienced and the user based system is efficient and state of the art. UFLP partnered with Alpha IT Systems for this full implementation.  Executive Vice President Scott Hearn said, “UFLP wanted to offer our clients dynamic analytics, a key factor in producing outstanding collections and performance. We placed analytics in every facet of our service.”

    Universal Fidelity LP Helps Organization Provide Meals to Local Children

    The ACA member company’s staff and their families decorated lunch bags for Lunches of Love, an organization delivering meals during extended school breaks in the Houston community.

    The staff at Houston-based ACA member company Universal Fidelity LP is committed to volunteering in their local community, most recently for the organization Lunches of Love.

    The organization started in 2009 with a mission to feed more than 150 children during the holidays when they were on break from school. Lunches of Love became a nonprofit organization in 2012 and now regularly provides lunches to more than 4,000 children, according to its website.

    Volunteers help the organization by decorating bags and assembling lunches to deliver to children in the community during extended school holidays.

    Universal Fidelity LP recently decorated more 300 bags for the children's lunches.  The decorations on the bags ranged from inspirational quotes to fun cartoon characters. 

    “It was great to see the amount of participation throughout the company,” said Roger Gilanyi, marketing executive at Universal Fidelity LP. “The staff even involved their children and grandchildren by taking bags home so they could decorate and participate in our mission to volunteer. It was great fun to have the opportunity to work with such a great organization and live their mission.”

    Universal Fidelity LP visits Texas Children’s Hospital

     

    Universal Fidelity LP (UFLP) began making an Easter visit to Texas Children’s Hospital in the Houston Medical Center more than 20 years ago.  Texas Children’s Hospital is a world renown facility, children come from all around the world to receive treatment; Texas Children’s hospital has recently been ranked 4th by U.S. News’ report for Best Children’s Hospital for 2016-2017.  In the spirit of giving back to the community, two UFLP team members coordinate with the facility to visit with children that are either hospitalized or going through treatment during Easter week.  During the visit, the UFLP duo visits multiple floors enabling them to distribute hundreds of cuddly stuffed bunny rabbits to patients.  Although the interaction with each patient is limited, it is greatly appreciated by the staff, patient’s families and patient’s.

    As much as the children enjoy the visit, it creates quite the excitement within UFLP; the list of team members requesting to make the trip grows every year.  With a long list of volunteers, UFLP management selects one tenured team member and allows that person to select a newer team member to join them for the visit.  This enables the two people to strengthen their teambuilding skills while volunteering for a great cause.  The feedback from the volunteers has been consistent, the experience is extremely rewarding; knowing you are making a positive memory for a sick child is something most people never forget.
